Today is the day we start our month long challenge to a healthier body and I couldn’t be more pumped for it! Everybody in the office has joined in on the challenge and I hope you have gathered your friends and family members to do it to.

Why do this challenge?

Physical activity will help you by:

1. Increasing energy

2. Sleeping better

3. Better bowel movements

4. Losing inches

The first day of the challenge couldn’t be easier. We have a rest day! I‘ve been thinking about the start of the challenge and how I am going to feel at the end. I love the feeling of wanting to go to the gym or go outside for a nice run. But I need to get past the first week of working out to get into a routine.

I’ve been wanting a workout routine that will allow me the flexibility to do what I need to do in my limited windows of free time. Sometimes it can be hard to get to the gym and participate in the classes we want to attend. This challenge we can do from the comfort of our home without that feeling of judgment or having to wake up at the crack of dawn just to get to the gym. 

Now, there are a few things we should all do when we exercise: 

1. Check homo-cysteine level after a month to see if you are on the right track.

2. See that your inflammatory markers have gone down.

3. Take the following vitamins; B12, D, C, omega 3, calcium, and magnesium. 

4. Remember that 20% is fitness and 80% is nutrition. Eat 1 cup of green leafy vegetables daily.

5. Drink 2 quartz of water to help your metabolism.

Physical activity isn’t always fun but the payoff is worth it. Throughout this challenge we at Holistic ICON will be blogging and posting on Facebook our experience. We all have those days where waking up to workout is the last thing we want to do. Stay posted to find out about our struggles and what motivates us.
